Alnwick, NE66

Hourly pay £14.67

Weekly pay £146.70

Job description

A kind, reliable and confident Personal Assistant is required to support a fun and engaging 10-year-old boy during school holiday weeks.

The child has Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, Epilepsy, Polycystic Kidney Disease, and a moderate learning disability. He can experience several seizures each day and has limited awareness of danger, therefore close supervision and a calm, attentive approach are essential. He enjoys arts and crafts, helping with cooking and spending time outdoors, so the role would suit someone who is creative, active and enjoys finding enjoyable ways to support a child to explore their interests safely.

The role will involve providing safe, positive support during school holidays, helping him access suitable social and leisure opportunities, maintaining routines, offering reassurance, and encouraging participation in activities both at home and in the community.

The successful applicant will need to be patient, caring and able to follow guidance from the family. Experience of supporting children with additional needs, epilepsy awareness, safeguarding and first aid would be an advantage, although personal qualities and the right approach are most important.
A driver with access to their own vehicle is required.
