Job description

About the role
I am looking for a kind, enthusiastic and dependable Personal Assistant to support my 6-year-old daughter, who has autism and developmental delay. This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys being active, creative and making a positive difference.

The focus of the role is to spend enjoyable, meaningful time with her, helping her explore her interests and take part in activities safely and confidently. Every day may be a little different, so a positive attitude and willingness to join in are important. Activities may include outdoor adventures or sensory play and creative indoor activities.

She requires one to one support with personal care. When she is tired, she may become dysregulated which can cause behavioural issues.

  • Caring, empathetic and patient
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and positive
  • Flexible and dependable
  • Active and happy to join in with indoor and outdoor activities
  • A good sense of humour
  • A female carer, due to the personal care element (Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies)
Desirable:
·         Experience of supporting someone with autism and developmental delay.

·         The rate of pay for this position is £12.89 per hour
·         Hours and times of work: Minimum of 3 hours per week plus additional hours arranged flexibly. Exact days and times will be advised in advance.
·         The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
·         This position requires the employee to complete the following free annual training: GDPR, Health and Safety.

Post is subject to the following:
