Job description

Job Purpose:
I am an elderly lady looking for a Personal Assistant to offer reassuring support and give my husband time to rest.

Location: Watton, IP25

Details:
Your support will help me feel safe and comfortable so I can enjoy daily life and continue doing the things that matter to me. I value my independence; you would be building on my strengths and gently offer help where it is needed. Changes in my mobility and cognition mean I may feel unsteady, unsure or overwhelmed in unfamiliar environments. I am hard of hearing; therefore, you will need to be patient when communicating with me. By being a trusted person alongside me, you can offer guidance and reassurance while supporting my wish to stay independent and involved in daily life.

Person specification:
Listed below are the skills, competencies and qualities that are essential and desirable for the post. My assessment of these, both on application and at interview, will be the main factor in determining if you are successful. Please refer to these when submitting your application.

Essential:
* Good communication skills.
* Well organised.
* Calm and not easily frustrated.
* Consistent and reliable.

Summary terms and conditions:
·         The rate of pay for this position is £17.43 for employed PA (£21.03 per hour for self-employed PA).
·         Hours and times of work: Four times a week, two hours per day. Further details will be discussed at the interview.
·         The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
·         This position requires the employee to complete free annual training.

 Post is subject to the following:
·         A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
 ·         Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
 ·         Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 3 months.
